As we've had a problem with electricity during the CW leg, the SSB part was a better try!)
Conditions were not the best on higher bands but short openings on 15m helped a lot!
40 and 20 were pretty good! 80 with 37Qs was just to pick up some mults!
Thanks to LZ5R for an exciting rally on cqcontest!
See You all next year!
RU1A Team
WAE DXC (both CW and SSB) always been one of our favourite contests.
This year everything was prepared beforehand and we were ready for a good result with a big team of Ops.
After previous 2 weeks of very poor conditions, just before the WAE weekend bands were open again.
Tthe first night 40m was fantastic to NA and SA, what brought us a lot of QSOs and QTCs with USA.
Then 15m opend up to JA and later on to USA. On 10m we've managed to get some imteresting mults.
During Saturday the weather was nice, warm and calm, all of a sudden at the end of the day it went dark, strong wind with heavy rain and lightnings few km away.
We were hoping that the storm would pass us by and that was the case!
But, the main power substation which is 10km away from our location was hit by the lightning(((.
This time we didn't have a possibility to start up the reserve generator and it was already dark. As a result, the elecricity was restored just 8 hours before the end of the game!
By that time all boys of the team went home.
It was a pity as the conditions were great the whole weekend and it was a nice race with LZ5R, DM6V and other M/S staions.
Thanks to all for QSOs/QTCs and CU in the SSB leg!

.....another WAEC party is over!
80&20m were pretty good
40m was a disaster, almost no NA, apart from a short opening for abt 40min (21:20 - 22:00Z) on Sunday night.
15m just mainly collecting MULTs as RUN didn't bring any result
10m not worth mentioning! only 1 QSO with A42K (with an endless - what is my number!))).) Could barely hear FR4QT on Sunday for a few minutes, for the rest - not a single bip during 2 days.
...nevertheless, it was a lot of fun as always in WAE!
The first hour was great with 278 qso on 14 MHz CW. The second one with additional 220 qso on the same band/mode till 13.44 and after we were without electricity more than 4.5 hours due to strong winds and damage to power lines. We spend some time for reconnections and next few hours used just diesel generator and 2 TRX with small PA and rate goes down up to 60-70 qso/hour or so....Then everything went back to normal. Anyway, propagation was great - all of us had real FUN from participation.

Poor conditions (with less than 300 NA on all bands) turned WW Contest into EU QSO Party)))
Due to heavy storm electricity was cut off 7 hours before the end of the contest.
It was our pleasure to have Gena UA9MA as our guest!
